Arran Skinnymalinks weigh in to raise funds to support Mary’s Meals. Our current campaign has just finished – it was a ‘Five week Festive Focus’ to help make space for all our food indulgence over Christmas. A few silver stars were awarded for a 7lb loss!!
We raised £353.90 which feeds 29 children for a school year.
Our Knit & Natter Group surpassed themselves creating a fantastic bumper bundle of wee Christmas puds to be sold for donations to Mary’s Meals. Some with chocs, others with bath bombs and a few made extra large to accommodate a golf ball! 57 children will be fed from this campaign – amazing work!!! Thank you K&N Nutters!
In recent years the church has supported Mary’s Meals, particularly after watching their inspiring film Child 31 shown at a Guild meeting & in church.
People are encouraged to take a box to fill at home. The Guild filled backpacks with basic clothing & pens, notebooks etc. for the children to use at school. Fund raising events such as coffee mornings (sometimes involving children as helpers) are held on a regular basis for Mary’s Meals.
