Intimations for 22 September 2019

September 22, 2019 by Cams

We are very pleased to welcome Rev Dr Ian MacLeod to lead our worship.

Thanks To Joyce and her team, who laid on the tea and biscuits at the presentation to Robert and Lyndsey last Sunday. This was well-attended and allowed us to say thank you to both of them, and to wish them well.

A MacMillan Coffee Morning is being hosted by Julia in the lounge of the sheltered housing complex at 31 MacKelvie Road on Friday 27th September from 10am to 12.30pm. Please come along to support this worthwhile cause. Donations will be most welcome (please phone 600048).

Our Harvest Thanksgiving service will be held on 29th September. There will be a retiring offering for the EcoVeg project run by Christian Aid. EcoVeg is a local, natural farming project, that gives people from India’s excluded and impoverished communities the opportunity to develop their farming skills, enabling them to get good prices for their produce and to work and save collectively.

Blythswood Shoebox Appeal: Once again we have been invited to support the Shoebox Appeal on behalf of Blythswood Care. Leaflets are available in the Vestibule. As it can be quite expensive to fill a shoebox, a collection boxes have been placed in the Vestibule and in the Church Hall, where you can donate an item/items to be used to fill shoeboxes. The closing date is 20th October. Thank you

The Faith Development Group meets at 2pm at Pearl’s House (68 Murray Cresc.) All are welcome to join us.

ACT Prayer Group will meet on 19th September at 2.30pm in St Margaret’s Episcopal Church, Whiting Bay. All will be most welcome.

We have a letter of thanks from Mary’s Meals, thanking the congregation for hosting the recent fundraiser in conjunction with Alison Page. The letter is on the noticeboard in the Vestibule.

Today’s Readings:

Exodus 3; 1 – 15
