Intimations 7 October 2018

October 7, 2018 by Alison Page

Good morning and welcome to Worship. May we all know God’s blessing as we worship together. If you are a visitor, please take our good wishes back to your own congregation on your return home.  We are very happy to welcome Liz Clarke to leads our worship today.

We are saddened to hear of the deaths of Jim Lane (funeral 12 noon, 8 October), Alistair Hamilton (Funeral 12 October) and Sal Bannatyne (Wednesday 10 October). The funerals are in church at 11.30am. Please remember the families in your prayers.

Kirk Session meets on 17 October at 2 pm in the church hall.

Messy Church will begin on 11th October in Lamlash church hall from 3.30 – 5.45pm, for children in early years to Primary 7. Families are invited to come along to enjoy some fun, stories, crafts and food. This is our first session and we’re looing forward to the fun with games, crafts, songs, food, stories and activities on offer.

Lamlash Guild have been invited to Shiskine Guild meeting on Tuesday 16th October at 1pm for lunch – meeting starts at 2pm. Speaker from CrossReach on ”Join up the dots ” project. Names to Aileen or Joyce.

BLYTHESWOOD CHRISTMAS SHOEBOX APPEAL· Empty shoeboxes are available on pew at Cradle Rolls and leaflets are available in the vestibule. Also in the vestibule is a box for individual donations which are not complete boxes. Please support this. It brings so much Christmas joy and hope to old and young who are otherwise forgotten. The closing date for boxes or donations is 14th October.

Arran Co-ops are launching FOODSHARE. Lily is looking for a few folk who want to be part of this Pastoral Care outreach.  Free food, including fruit and vegetables, will be available to any registered group. This food would otherwise be binned and that is such a waste. The food collected will then be available from the church to anyone who needs it. This is a big commitment but can we stand back knowing food is going to waste when so people could benefit?   If this intimation doesn’t spur you to speak to Lily then read MATTHEW 35 verses 31 – 46 and JAMES 2 verses 14 -19.  Please volunteer because you care and not because you feel guilty!!

The church prayer group and is currently meeting at 3pm on Mondays. We will be at Betty Dick’s home ‘Kilspindie’ at top of Margnaheglish Road. It would be great to see more people join us so do come along if able. You will be very welcome.

Marine Protection Area: A young lady whose is doing a university thesis on this topic, Louise Harker, is hoping to meet with anyone who is interested, to have a discussion with her. More information is available from Robert Marr.

Lily is on holiday until 9th October. Liz Clarke is available for pastoral cover until 9th October.  Please contact Ian on 600 382 for any assistance needed.
