There will be a Coffee Morning in the church hall (behind the church) on Wednesday from 10-15 to 12 noon. All are welcome to come along for a ” cuppa “, and a chat with friends old and new. There will be the usual stalls.
The ACT Prayer Group meets at 2.30pm in the lesser hall on Thursday 10th May. All welcome to come along and pray for the work of Arran churches/
Christian Aid week begins on 13th May. A donation envelope will be placed in your hymnbook, and we invite you to give as generously as you feel able. Envelopes can be handed in at the Christian Aid Coffee Morning on 16th May, or at church on the following Sunday.
PHT Bus Pass Lunch is Wednesdays 12 – 2.30 pm. Present your Bus Pass for free bowl of soup with bread.
The Singing Group meets in the hall on Wednesday 9th May 4pm – 5pm. No auditions! Just turn up!
A reminder that Safeguarding training takes place Saturday 12th May and Saturday 19th May at 2pm in Brodick Church hall. Please speak to Ian watt Safeguarding Co-ordinator to ensure you attend on the right date!
The Church of Scotland’s Heart & Soul celebration takes place in Princes Street Gardens Edinburgh from 12:30pm – 6pm on 20th May during the General Assembly. This is its 7th year and it is a wonderful afternoon, celebrating the life and work of the church! Thousands attend and there is a festival atmosphere with music, talks and an opportunity to wander through the many ‘villages’ and hear the exciting things other churches are doing in their communities. From 2pm – 3pm Lily will be in the Path of Renewal tent sharing the work of Lamlash Church and she is looking for a few enthusiastic people to join her. Please pray for the General Assembly’s week of deliberations and the ongoing work of the Church of Scotland in every parish.
SCANA – Scottish Christians Against Nuclear Arms
SCANA are holding their annual peace vigil at North Gate, Faslane Royal Naval base (approx 10 miles north of Helensburgh on Saturday the 26th of May, 12 noon – 1pm. The Very Rev Susan M Brown, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland will be present. The vigil aims to bear witness to peaceful alternatives to the violence of weapons of mass destruction in the context of readings, songs, prayers, silence and symbolic actions. An optional, bring your own picnic, will be held at the end. People of all faiths, or none, are most welcome. Please contact Rev. John Webster (700747) who is co-ordinating transport to Faslane.
