Intimations 4 March 2018

March 4, 2018 by Alison Page

Good morning, and welcome to Church. May we know God’s blessing as we worship together. If you are a visitor, please take our good wishes back to your own congregation on your return home.

Each Sunday before worship, there is the opportunity to join together in the lesser hall for a short time of prayer beginning at 10.45 am. If you have any prayer request please speak to Aileen. All requests can be anonymous – God will know!

Our Spring Newsletter is now printed and copies are available at the front door of the church. If you have a new neighbour or know of anyone in our community who doesn’t already receive a copy, pop one through their letterbox! Thanks as always to our lovely contributors and distributors. Bundles are available for uplift from the front pew and please advise any change in numbers required to Alison Page or Alison Armstrong.

We are hoping to start a telephone prayer chain shortly for prayer needs in our church family. This is a simple but effective way of making sure we include everyone. The chain begins when someone asks Lily or Aileen for prayer. One of us will then ‘phone 2 people and pass on the prayer request. These 2 will each ‘phone 1 more person etc  and so the prayer chain grows.  Everything will be absolutely confidential and it is not necessary to mention names, only situation.  If anyone would like to be involved or would like further information please contact Aileen in church or on 700 535.

The Guild are having a sing along in the hall with Douglas Hamilton on Tuesday 6th March at 2pm.  Choose your favourite hymn or just come along and join in the singing!

There will be a COFFEE MORNING on Wednesday 7th MARCH in the HALL behind the church. Please come along between 10-15 & Noon, to enjoy the stalls, food & fellowship. Bring a friend. All are welcome!

PHT Bus Pass Lunch is Wednesdays 12 – 2.30 pm.  Present your Bus Pass for free bowl of soup with bread.

A reminder that the Kirk Session Prayer Course continues on Wednesday 7th March  2pm at the manse. This will run for another 5 weeks every Wednesday. It is important as Elders that we are equipped to serve our congregation. The Prayer Course will be rolled out for the whole congregation in due course.

The Singing Group meet in the hall on Wednesday 7th March 4pm – 5pm.  No auditions! Just turn up!

Next Sunday 11th March, we have a guest speaker from Christian Aid and there will be a retiring offering.

We are delighted to report that three more team leaders have volunteered to help with the Coffee Mornings.  A huge thank you to all who help keep this greatly appreciated event working.

Today’s Readings:  1 Corinthians 1: 18 – 25   John 2: 13  -22 Today’s Reader: Aileen Brooken
