Good morning and welcome to Worship, and to our monthly Praise Service. Today is also our Guild Dedication Service and hymns have been chosen by Guild members. May we all know God’s blessing as we worship together. If you are a visitor, please take our good wishes back to your own congregation on your return home.
Mary‘s Meals Fundraiser: We will be hosting a very simle soup and bread lunch in Lamlash Church Hall TODAY. Please join us 12:30 – 13:30pm. We hope to have a supply of Mary‘s Meals 2018 Christmas cards on sale and a few wee knitted mindings to tempt you! All proceeds to Mary’s Meals to help feed chronically starving children in a place of education
The national theme for this year’s GUILD is ‘One Journey – Many Roads; Seeking The Way‘. This is an ideal time to join the Guild as the new session begins 2pm Tuesday 30th October. The speaker is Evelyn Coles who will be giving insight into RELEASE INTERNATIONAL who support Christians around the world persecuted and imprisoned for their faith. We look forward to welcoming everyone on Tuesday.
Foodshare: we have been partnered with Lamlash Co-op and we will share out the collection days with Eco Savvy so that we do not have to be involved every day of the week.
We are pleased to say that we have 5 volunteers, whom we thank. More would, of course, be welcome. There will be no need to wait at the church as we will operate on the same basis as the Foodbank with the church vestry being open for people in need to come along and help themselves. This helps preserve peoples’ anonymity and dignity.
As the Faith Development Group has resumed, the church prayer group will not be meeting during the winter. Please continue your prayers for the church and all our work as we seek God’s leading.
As part of Together We Pray, the Church of Scotland are encouraging people to gather together for a NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER on Saturday 3rd November. Lily will lead a time of prayer in Lamlash Church at 11am on Saturday morning and everyone is invited. You can stay any length of time and leave at any time that suits you. People all over Scotland will be giving thanks for the many gifts that God has given and praying for courage to trust God where risks require to be taken, for all God’s people in all denominations, for boldness to try new things which must begin and to let go of those things that are no longer working, praying also for skills of listening, consultation and decision making within the life of the church led by the Spirit.
The Newsletter will resume publication with a Winter/Christmas edition scheduled to appear on 25th November. Articles, comments, suggestions, or letters will be gratefully received by the incoming Editor, Iain Auld, who can be contacted on auldiain@btinternet.com or 600 639. Deadline for submissions is 4th November.
Our next ACT Prayer meeting will be at Whiting Bay and Kildonan Church on Thursday, 25th October at 2.30pm.

Thought for the Week
‘ You are the people of God. The peace that Christ gives is to guide you in the decisions you make; for it is to this peace that God has called you together in the one body. And be thankful. Christ’s message in all its richness must live in your hearts. Everything you do or say, then, should be done in the Name of the Lord Jesus, as you give thanks through Him to God the Father.’ From Colossians 3 v 12 – 17
