Good morning and welcome to our Harvest Thanksgiving worship. Our gifts today are for Arran Foodbank. May we all know God’s blessing as we worship together. If you are a visitor, please take our good wishes back to your own congregation on your return home.
Coffee Morning Leaders and Helpers
In order for the coffee mornings to continue, we need more team leaders and helpers. More leaders mean that they have less coffee mornings to prepare for. The church needs your help. Thanks to the Guild helping, we can do the monthly coffee mornings during the winter. However, the coffee mornings will not be able to continue if we don’t get help. Apart from the money these raise for church funds, the coffee mornings are a wonderful community event loved by everyone.

Diary date Mary’s Meals Fundraiser Sunday 28th October
We will be hosting a very simple soup and bread lunch in Lamlash Church Hall following our church service on Sunday the 28th of October. Please join us 12:30 – 13:30pm.
We hope to have a supply of Mary’s Meals 2018 Christmas cards on sale and a few wee knitted mindings to tempt you! All proceeds to Mary’s Meals to help feed chronically starving children in a place of education.
BLYTHESWOOD CHRISTMAS SHOEBOX APPEAL· Empty shoeboxes are available on pew at Cradle Rolls and leaflets are available in the vestibule. Please support this. It brings so much Christmas joy and hope to old and young who are otherwise forgotten.
Arran Co-ops are launching FOODSHARE. Lily is looking for a few folk who want to be part of this Pastoral Care outreach. Free food, including fruit and vegetables, will be available to any registered group. This food would otherwise be binned and that is such a waste. The food collected will then be available from the church to anyone who needs it. This is a big commitment but can we stand back knowing food is going to waste when so people could benefit? If this intimation doesn’t spur you to speak to Lily then read MATTHEW 35 verses 31 – 46 and JAMES 2 verses 14 -19. Please volunteer because you care and not because you feel guilty!! To date NOBODY has volunteered – Ian and Lily cannot do this on their own!
Music Matters is 2pm Thursday 27th September. TEAM 2 ( Lindsey, Robert, Dorothy) are responsible for the baking and are asked to be at the hall for 1.15pm to set up. Frances Coyle will be singing in addition to our well-loved regulars. Thank you for all your support.
The church prayer group will be resuming after the summer break at 3pm on Monday 24th September. We will be meeting at Betty Dick’s home ‘Kilspindie’ at top of Margnaheglish Road. Please note the change of day, time and address. It would be great to see more people join us so do come along if able. You will be very welcome.
Arran Health and Social Services. On-island health and social care are changing to meet growing demand and to remain sustainable. There will be a meeting on Monday 24th September in Arran High School at 7.30pm. Your input is greatly needed and will help shape services in the future, so please come along to this meeting. Free tea and coffee served.
Lily is at a Path of Renewal Regional conference on Saturday 29th September and will be going on holiday on Sunday 30th September. Liz Clarke is leading worship and available for pastoral cover until 9th October. Please contact Ian on 600 382 for any assistance needed.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
Then Jesus made a circuit of all the towns and villages. He taught in their meeting places, reported Kingdom news, and healed their diseased bodies, healed their bruised and hurt lives. When He looked out over the crowds, His heart broke. So confused and aimless they were, like sheep with no shepherd. “What a huge harvest!” He said to his disciples. “How few workers! On your knees and pray for harvest hands!”
