It’s time to start thinking about the 2019 Fete. Church hall has been booked for 29th June. It seems a long time in the future, but it will creep up on us, so please give some thought to ideas for stalls/activities, and if you can volunteer on the day or help in any way to make this a happy and successful occasion. Our first job will be to appoint a committee!
St Molios Guild, Shiskine invite Lamlash Guild to their meeting on 19th February at 2 pm, in St Moliose Church. The speaker will be Professor June Andrews, St. Andrews University. Coffee Mornings – The important and valuable Coffee Morning set up is in danger of collapsing for want of folk to act as ‘team leaders’. There is support from people willing to bake, but we urgently require team leaders. This is not as onerous as it may sound, but is extremely important. The Coffee Morning is an extremely valuable aspect of the church’s work, in that it a well-used meeting place, as well as being an important source of income for both church and other charitable causes. If you want more information, or have any suggestions, please speak to Vivienne Haigh
There was a very valuable and interesting meeting with Scripture Union last Monday about the Holiday Club which will be run in the week 1st – 6th April. This is an excellent opportunity to get to know our young people and families and to share fun with them. This will be headed up by Owain Evans, the Dumfries and Galloway SU Regional Worker with help from the congregation and friends, and there will be meeting with Owain on 20th February. It is a valuable example of Outreach to the community. We are looking for folk, within or outwith the congregation, to take part in this very worthwhile project. If you, or anyone you know might be interested in helping, please contact Aileen Brookens or Ian Watt.
