Intimations 14 April 2019

April 14, 2019 by Alison Page

Good morning, and welcome to our praise service. A warm welcome to all visitors. We hope you enjoy your time with us, and please take our good wishes back to your own congregation on your return home. We are very delighted to welcome Rev Ian McLeod to lead our worship today.

Today is Palm Sunday, and we will distribute Palm Crosses during the service as a reminder of the occasion. There will also be a retiring collection today for African Palms, who work in villages in Tanzania

A few of us watched the DVD,‘ Risen’  recently. This is really worth watching, (ask Alison, Robert or Dorothy), and is available to anyone who would like to borrow it. Why not ask a few friends round and watch it together? See Aileen today or contact her on 700535.

Please join the Knit & Natter group on Tuesday 16th of April at 2pm in the lounge at Trust Homes, McKelvie Rd. A new project involving  knitting, making pom poms and/or chatting over a cuppa. Wool will be available and everyone is welcome!    Please call Alison on 600963 if you need a lift.

On Maundy Thursday in Holy Week (18th April) there will be a short and informal service of Communion, at 7pm in church, to which all will be made most welcome.

The Walk of Witness, organised by Arran Churches Together, will take place on Good Friday, 14th April, starting from Holy Cross Curch in Brodick, and finishing with a short service of praise at Brodick Church of Scotland at about 2:45 pm. See notices in vestibule, hall and noticeboard at the gate.

You may be aware that Robert Marr ‘signed up’ as Treasurer for three years, and his time is up! and we are very grateful for the hard work he has done, along with Lindsey. Added to that is the fact that they intend to leave Arran for pastures new. The bottom line is that we are looking for a new Treasurer. Anyone who has any suitable/interested contacts is asked to speak to Ian Watt.
