Intimations 10 February 2019

February 17, 2019 by Alison Page

Good morning, and welcome to worship. A warm welcome to
all visitors. We hope you enjoy your time with us, and please
take our good wishes back to your own congregation on your
return home. May each one of us know God’s blessing as we
worship together.

We are delighted to welcome Mrs Liz Clarke to lead our
worship today.

The Kirk Session will meet on 11th February at 2pm in the
church hall.

Material for the Spring Newsletter should be given to lain Auld
by 17th February, please.

St Molios Guild, Shiskine invite Lamlash Guild to their meeting
on 19th February at 2 pm, in St Moliose Church. The speaker will
be Professor June Andrews, St. Andrews University. The title of her talk is ‘Dementia – One Stop Guide’. Tea and biscuits will be served in the hall after the meeting. All are welcome even if you’re not a Guild member.

The Faith Development Group will meet again on Tuesday,
12th February, at 2pm. in Pearl’s house. All very welcome.

Foodshare. Due to demand, this now operates from the vestry
from Mondays to Fridays, from 9 am until 5.30 pm. Anyone
needing to get into the Vestry should just go in as they require.

Messy Church for Early years to P7 is on Thursday 14th
February at 3
.30pm – 5.45pm. Families come together for
crafts, games, singing, Bible story and a meal. Lots of fun and
lots of love.

Coffee Mornings – The important and valuable Coffee Morning
set up is in danger of collapsing for want of folk to act as ‘team
leaders’. There is support from people willing to bake, but we
urgently require team leaders. This is not as onerous as it may
sound, but is extremely important. The Coffee Morning is an
extremely valuable aspect of the church’s work, in that it a well-
used meeting place, as well as being an important source of
income for both church and other charitable causes. If you want
more information, or have any suggestions, please speak to
Vivienne Haigh

There was a super turnout at the Mary’s Meals Charity
Dinner
on the 6th of Feb, with people from many of our
churches in attendance. The amazing sum of £1513 was donated
which will be matched under UK Aid ‘Double The Love”.
1,425,013 children are being fed every school day through
Mary’s Meals at the moment. Thank you for helping us to reach
even more starving children. Your support is greatly appreciated!
Alison Page, Mary’s Meals Ambassador, Isle of Arran

There was a very valuable and interesting meeting with
Scripture Union last Monday about the Holiday Club which will
be run in the week 1st – 6th April. This is an excellent opportunity
to get to know our young people and families and to share fun
with them. This will be headed up by Owain Evans, the Dumfries
and Galloway SU Regional Worker with help from the
congregation and friends. It is a valuable example of Outreach to
the community. We are looking for folk, within or outwith the
congregation, to take part in this very worthwhile project. If you,
or anyone you know might be interested in helping, please
contact Aileen Brookens or Ian Watt.
