Good morning and welcome to worship. This morning we welcome lay preacher, Maranny Jones, to share leading the service. May we know God’s blessing as we worship together.
If you are a visitor, please take our good wishes back to your own congregation on your return home.
Each Sunday before worship, there is the opportunity to join together in the lesser hall for a short time of prayer beginning at 10.45 am. If you have any prayer request please speak to Aileen.
The church will be open for visitors from 10 am to noon on weekdays during the months of Julyand August. Volunteers are required to be inchurch at those times. It is a pleasant and relaxing undertaking, and the more volunteers, the lessfrequent the duty. If you can help, contact David Oakes (600279).
There will be a Coffee Morning in the church hall (behind the church) on Wednesday from 10-15 to 12 noon. All are welcome to come along for a ” cuppa ” and a chat with friends old and new. There will be the usual stalls.
Arran Skinnymalinks Lamlash group will weigh in on Wednesday mornings at 10:15am … before they eat any delicious cake at the Church Coffee Morning ;-)This will be a 6 week summer programme starting on Wednesday 27th of June and running until Wednesday the 1st of August.A £15 donation to Mary’s Meals is requested to help feed starving children in a place of education. The Fete this year is on 23rd June, starting at 2pm and using the church, church hall and the green opposite the church. There will be homebaking and teas, but we need other ideas and input from anyone who can help. We are also incorporating a Famiy Fun Time on the green or in the church if wet. This is an opportunity to raise a lot of money and to create a
pleasant and enjoyable occasion. Please talk to Ian Watt or Dorothy Boyle TODAY if you are able to help in any way. This should be a big event in every way, but it will only be so if we all ‘muck in’. One way of doing this is by donating items, for example items of baking, ‘useful’ prizes, tombola prizes of no less than £1. Collection can be arranged. Collecting boxes have been placed in the hall and at the church door. Items can be brought to the Coffee Morning on 20th June.
Our church is in the planning stages of commencing Messy Church in the Autumn. Messy church is a programme meeting monthly with a bible theme, crafts and fellowship over a simple meal. Families attend together. At the moment we are trying to accumulate some board games. Please check your cupboards for unwanted games to help us with this new venture.
Our thanks go to Douglas Bruce for the excellent organ recital last Sunday. This was greatly appreciated by the large audience. Douglas has very generously donated all the proceeds to the church, to be used for organ maintenance.
Arran Churches Together are holding the annual Songs of Praise on the green opposite the Church on Sunday 24th June at 3pm. The offering is for the Erskine Hospital. Tea/coffee will be served in the church hall afterwards. We will need help with the chairs.
Anyone interested is invited to go along with Lily to this year’s Show and Tell. Last year eight congregations outlined successful projects they had started. The projects ranged from small scale and ‘early days’ right through to larger, more established endeavours. This ‘Show and Tell’ approach, which attracted around eighty people and was very well received, was such a hit that it is planned to run another on Wednesday 19th September in Springfield Cambridge Church, Bishopbriggs, Glasgow G64 1PP. The event will run from 10am – 2.30pm and lunch
