We were saddened to hear of the passing of Joey Sillars last Monday, and we are asked to remember the family in our prayers. The thanksgiving service will be on Friday 13th January, at 11.30 pm.
There will be a short service in the lounge of the Sheltered Housing complex in McKelvie Road at 3pm today. All will be made most welcome.
The Guild meets this Tuesday 10th January at 2pm in the Church hall, and is open to everyone Elaine Jennings will reveal the mysteries of cross stich. Please join us for a cuppa and a chat All welcome – men included! The change of venue is necessary to allow redecoration.
The first Coffee Morning of the year will be on Wednesday 11th January from 10.15 – 12 noon, with all the usual stalls. Next month, the Coffee Morning will on the usual date, ie the first Wednesday of the month.
Next Sunday, 15th January, Arran Churches Together (ACT) are holding the annual Service of Christian Unity in Lamlash Church at 12 noon. The speaker is Rev Leslie Edge, Chaplain to the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow, and the offering will be for the work of the hospice. Therefore our Service will be at 12 noon. Tea/coffee will be available in the Church Hall from 11.15 am until 12 noon. See notice in vestibule and outside noticeboard.
The Kirk Session meets on 18th January at 2 pm in the Church Hall.
“Mary’s Meals” January 2017 campaign starts on Monday (9th of Jan) and runs for 6 weeks. Alison is delighted to have the help of other lovely church folks around our island.
Joan Stewart is weighing people at Shiskine Church Hall, Shona Dunsmuir in Corrie at Breagha, Faye Waterlow in Lochranza at the Distillery and Alison will cover Lamlash and Brodick Churches plus Arran Active.
Everyone is welcome to join us!
The request is for a £15 donation at the first weigh in, which will be banked for Mary’s Meals and thereafter, as food cupboards are being cleared, the opportunity to donate a weekly tin to our local Foodbank.
